food lovers find most essential - and it's not what you may think.When it comes to roast dinners, most people will instantly think of roast potatoes usually.However, roasties were beaten to the top spot in the data, collected by Last Minute Cottages, by gravy.The firm found that out of 10,000 Brits questioned, gravy was labelled the most important component - with 97% of participants selecting it.This was followed by roasties (94%), meat (84%), Yorkshire pudding (84%) and carrots (81%).Meanwhile, the five least important items, according to the British public, are leeks (2%) Brussel sprouts (31%) pigs in blankets (31%), cabbage (36%) and cauliflower cheese (44%).Beef was the nation’s favourite roast dinner meat, with nearly two fifths (39%).
