Britain's Got Talent signs up Jennifer Saunders for star-studded special stint

Britain’s Got Talent. The comedy legend will perform a routine from hit musical Sister Act in her role as Mother Superior.It will also feature appearances from her ­co-stars including Hollywood actress Keala Settle, singer Beverley Knight and Birds of a Feather’s Lesley Joseph.The world exclusive performance will be part of next Sunday’s live final.A show insider said: “This is a massive coup for Britain’s Got Talent.

Jennifer is a national treasure.“The final is always a big TV event, but this makes it even more exciting.“This will be an exclusive preview of Sister Act before it opens in London this summer, so a lot of fans will tune in for it.”Show chiefs have secured a string of top acts to appear in this year’s live semi-­final shows, which kick off tomorrow at 8pm on ITV.They include chart star Emeli Sandé, former winners Diversity and the casts of hit West End shows Back To The Future and Moulin Rouge!

The Musical.Britain’s Got Talent also plans to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a special ­performance starring former champions Colin Thackery and Jon Courtenay.They will be joined during the patriotic spectacular by The Chelsea Pensioners Choir and The D-Day Darlings.A BGT spokesman last night ­promised: “A brilliant variety of special guest performers will take to the world-famous Britain’s Got Talent stage.”Wannabes set to battle it out for victory this week ­include singer Loren Allred, comedian Axel Blake and dance troupe Born To Perform.The winner will get a spot at The Royal Variety Performance.
