BREAKING: 'Gas explosion' on East Kilbride main street leaves two people injured

East Kilbride. Police, paramedics and fire crews remain at the scene in Main Street after being called at around 11.25am on Monday.

Police Scotland confirmed that a number of people have been evacuated from surrounding buildings as a precaution.The area remains closed while two people are being treated by the Scottish Ambulance Service.It is not known how severe their injuries are.One witness said: "The blast must have had one hell of a force in the flat.

The walls are buckled outwards."A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Emergency services are currently dealing with an incident in Main Street, East Kilbride.“Around 11.25am on Monday, 3 May, 2021, police received a report of an explosion.
