The measure is just one of 400 announced to tackle global warming, with others including a ban on the sale of high-polluting petrol and diesel cars by 2030.
When gas is produced, it releases carbon emissions into the environment - a contributing factor to the current global climate problem.
The International Energy Agency (IEA) says that from now, there is no place for new coal, oil or gas exploration or supplies, reports Mirror Online.
