Boy, 8, in life-threatening condition after road traffic collision

An eight-year-old boy is in a life-threatening condition after a road traffic collision tonight.A Greater Manchester Police statement read: "At around 8.16pm  on Thursday 23 July 2020, police were called to Ryecroft Close Ashton-Under-Lyne to reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian."The pedestrian – an 8-year-old boy – has been taken to hospital in a life threatening condition.

Officers are supporting his family at this difficult time."There is currently a scene in place on Ryecroft Road  whilst investigation work is carried out."Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting incident number 2597 of 23/07/20."Reports can be made to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.".
