A one-year-old boy was 48 hours away from dying when his mum made a "snap decision" to get him a lifesaving Type 1 diabetes test.

Charlie Bradford was just 18 months when doctors found he had glucose levels so high that he required emergency treatment. Now four years old, Charlie is ‘coping like a champion’ after being fitted with an insulin pump to manage his lifelong condition.

Mum Emma Day hopes that his story can be the trigger for another parent to take their child for the life-saving test. Emma had no idea at the time just how near Charlie was to losing his life but her concerns grew when he began losing weight and seeming more irritable.
