A huge fire has broken out on a hill leading up from the seafront at Bournemouth beach. Hundreds of people on the beach watched on as the fire took hold on the vegetation covered hillside.
Police officers closed off roads leading up to the fire as efforts were made to get it under control. A fire fighter was sent up on a ladder to douse the flames from above.
Several fire engines were called in to tackle the blaze. One woman who lives close wrote on Twitter: "Just over the road from my flat.
