Rubbish tips and recycling centres in Bolton are to reopen on Saturday but with a number of new rules and restrictions. The centres will be open for bagged general waste only and residents will need to bring proof of address with them.

There are also changes to opening hours. The Raikes Lane centre will be open every day from 8am to 6pm and the Salford Road centre will be open at weekends only.

The Salford Road centre will operate during the week but only for council refuse vehicles. In order to control the number of vehicles accessing the centres, a traffic control system will also be introduced based on odd and even number plates.
