A body has been found after a fire partially destroyed a house in Airdrie, North Lanarkshire. Emergency services were called to reports of a fire in a detached house shortly after 3am on Saturday.
Eight nearby houses were evacuated at the time as a precaution. Police have now said a body has been discovered following the blaze, which is not currently being treated as suspicious.
Formal identification of the person who died has yet to take place. Investigations are ongoing to establish the cause of the fire.
