Blackpool Zoo is looking to pay people to dress up in inflatable bird outfits as 'seagull deterrents'

If you’ve ever fancied walking around in an inflatable bird outfit and ‘deterring’ away nuisance seagulls, then you could be the perfect candidate for a new job listed at Blackpool Zoo.

The popular seaside zoo is currently advertising a ‘seagull deterrent’ role to help clear away pesky seagulls who have garnered a reputation for stealing food from customers and the animal enclosures.

The role, which would be housed within the zoo’s Visitor Services team, will involve someone dressing up in the inflatable costume and keeping seagulls away from the main visitor dining areas. Of course, they will also need to be prepared to wear the bird costume. Lancs Live reports that the role will be offered with variable seasonal hours.
