Kate Garraway surprised her Good Morning Britain co-host when she suddenly revealed what she'll be up to this weekend before explaining the special plan.
The presenter was back at the helm of the ITV news programme on Friday (April 21) alongside Adil Ray. As they cracked on with the last jam-packed edition of the show of the week, Adil appeared confused when Kate suddenly changed the subject after an interview with Shadow Health Secretary Jonathan Ashworth as she said: "I'm planting a tree this weekend." Quickly turning in his seat, her co-star replied: "Well that was a nice handbrake turn there." Kate reassured her co-host that there was a reason for her comment as she expertly segued into a segment with weather presenter Laura Tobin. It may take some time to work out what it is but it always makes sense in my head. I'm planting a tree this weekend with some of Derek's family who are coming down so it's going to be a lovely moment planting a fruit tree and Laura says we should definitely be doing that." Laura then explained how this weekend is important to demonstrate to support environmental protection, sharing: "Tomorrow is Earth day and theme this week is investing in our planet." Kate's weekend plans comes after she enjoyed a rare night out with her husband Derek Draper earlier this week.
The couple and their two children, Darcey, 17, and Billy, 13. The family headed to London's O2 arena to see Sir Elton John on his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
