Tony Iommi has raised over £19,000 for the NHS amid the coronavirus pandemic by auctioning off memorabilia from Black Sabbath.
The guitar player, 72, put some of his prized possessions up for sale and managed to get a tidy sum to help frontline workers.
One of his left-handed guitars sold for £11,300, and other smaller items including a signed DVD box set, CDs and vinyls made another £8,000.
The money has been donated to the University Hospitals Birmingham, to help them through the pandemic. Justin Davy, the trust’s head of fundraising expressed their gratitude to Tony for his fundraising efforts, adding: ‘The money raised will help us to support our NHS superheroes who are working tirelessly to provide care to our patients.’ Tony said
