BBC Breakfast presenters Dan Walker and Sally Nugent were delighted to finally be able to sit next to each other on the famous red sofa.For the last two years, BBC presenters have been forced to sit apart from each other when they host the flagship morning show due to the pandemic.Like many other broadcasters, the BBC had been complying with Covid safety guidelines during the lockdown, which initially began in March 2020 after the rise in Covid infections.It meant presenting pairs like Dan and Sally, as well as Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt, were rather placed far apart as they hosted the show from the studio in MediaCity, Salford.However, it all changed on Monday (February 28) this week, and former Strictly star Dan was delighted to reveal some changes had been made to the format of the show.Taking to Twitter, Dan excitedly announced to his 751k followers that he was allowed to sit a lot closer to his dear co-star Sally.Dan shared a sweet snap of him and Sally beaming on the red sofa - and sitting next to each other.As always, Dan looked suave in a navy suit, and Sally looked lovely in a turtleneck top and trouser combo.Celebrating the milestone moment before the show, Dan wrote: "Good morning world" with a waving-emoji.He went on: "Yes… we are sitting closer together for the first time in 2 years."I hope you’re ok this morning.
