For residents of Newton, the ongoing struggle to get local kids a much needed games facility has confirmed their belief that they are being shortchanged by South Ayrshire Council.They say the council reacted positively to a story published on the issue in September, only to hear nothing from them for months.Newton Residents and Tenants Associations had been promised a site, next to Newton House, which had been partially used as a council vehicle car park.Having believing they had been given the word by the council, they then found out the site was being considered for a Travellers halting site.While that option was quickly dismissed, the residents said that it had made them question the council's 'promise'.Helen Russell, of the association,
