NASA is tracking an asteroid hurtling towards Earth’s orbit at a speed of 22,391mph. The space rock isn’t as big as the recent giant 1982 OR2, but is estimated to be anywhere between 190ft and 436ft wide.

If correct, the asteroid would be anywhere from the height of Buckingham Palace to taller than Big Ben. The space agency has dubbed the asteroid 2020 HV4 and it is expected to zip past Earth in the early hours of Tuesday.

It will be the final asteroid of the day to intersect Earth’s orbit, as NASA predicts three others will pass our little planet.

NASA estimates 2020 HV4 to pass at around 3.25am on May 5. The asteroid NASA is expected to be just 3.9million miles away, or 16 times the distance between the Earth and the Moon.
