Arsenal have been told Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's contract wrangle threatens to put the club in a similar situation to which they find themselves with Mesut Ozil.
The Gunners' captain is out of contract next year and is currently stalling over a new deal. Aubameyang is reportedly demanding parity on wages with the club's top earner Ozil, whose £350,000-per-week contract has proven to be a contentious issue at Arsenal.
Ozil has since failed to reproduce the same form which earned him the contract, and Arsenal have struggled to negotiate with other players, such as Aaron Ramsey, who requested higher salaries based on the German's wage.
