Louise Thompson 'brave and petrified' as she 'breaks taboo' around poo as honesty praised

Louise Thompson has said she is both 'brave and petrified' as she was seen reading a segment of her upcoming book in which she details her birth story for the first time and subsequent challenges with her health that recently saw her have her colon removed.

The former Made in Chelse star nearly lost her life while delivering her son Leo in November 2021. The post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) episodes which followed – and can still happen today although less frequently and less severely – can leave her unable to move or speak for 30 minutes at a time, with the same recurring thoughts.

Louise ended up having an emergency caesarean section because her baby’s head became wedged in her pelvis during the late stages of labour.

The NHS medical team operated for three hours to stop a haemorrhage, while the new mum was awake and not under general anaesthetic.
