Arsenal fans are losing their minds after realising that 15-year-old Ethan Nwaneri - named on the bench against Brentford on Sunday - is actually younger than the Emirates Stadium.

Nwaneri, who was born in 2007, was promoted to first-team training this week having made his debut for the club's U21s at the start of September.

But few would have expected the youngster to earn a spot in Mikel Arteta's matchday squad quite so soon, even with the likes of Martin Odegaard and Emile Smith Rowe missing through injury.

But Arteta clearly rates the schoolboy extremely highly after handing him a surprise spot in the 20-man squad for the trip across west London to face Brentford.
