Arsenal still have some big flops at the club earning fortunes despite not fitting into Mikel Arteta’s plans. The Gunners failed to sign anyone in January and instead looked to alleviate a ballooning wage bill with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang the biggest profile to leave. The 32-year-old had been ostracised by Arteta after a breach of discipline and it became evident that he would not figure in his first-team plans.

So after a month of trying to sell the Gabon international, the situation concluded with Arsenal ripping up the striker’s contract and allowing him to join Barcelona on a free transfer.
