Arsenal fans have turned on technical director Edu Gaspar after becoming increasingly frustrated with the club’s lack of business in the January transfer window.

The Gunners had chased Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic before the Serbia international decided to sign for Juventus in a £63million transfer.Mikel Arteta then turned his attention to Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak, but the north London outfit were priced out for a deal to sign the Sweden international.Espanyol director Jose Maria Duran confirmed the club had snubbed an approach from Arsenal to sign their top goalscorer Raul De Tomas late in the window. But as the clock ticks down to the 11pm deadline on January 31, Arteta’s attempts to sign a striker appear to have ended in failure.Edu, the former Arsenal midfielder who rejoined the club as their transfer chief in 2019, had been hailed for overseeing the club’s £150m summer spree.Aaron Ramsdale, Ben White, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Martin Odegaard, Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga all arrived as new signings while the Gunners offloaded some dead wood from their squad. But the Brazilian has been subjected to criticism from exasperated Arsenal fans, who have shifted the blame at his feet for the lack of signings in this window.Their only signing of note is 17-year-old Lino Sousa from West Brom — and the youngster won’t be available for the first team as he links up with the academy. The club tweeted images from their training camp in Dubai, where Arteta is currently working with his squad during the Premier League winter break.HAVE YOUR SAY: Is Edu Gaspar to blame for Arsenal's transfer failures?
