Barcelona have reportedly reached an agreement with Arsenal to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang on a free transfer. Aubameyang had been expected to leave the Emirates on loan this month. But it seems his exit will now be permanent.

The 32-year-old was frozen out by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta following a disciplinary breach in mid-December.He was stripped of the captaincy and hasn't played for the Gunners since a 2-1 defeat to Everton 56 days ago.

Arsenal received a number of approaches for Aubameyang during the January transfer window, including from Al Hilal and Juventus.

But a switch to Barcelona was always believed to be the forward's preferred option. With Arsenal, Barca and the player keen on a deal, a move appeared likely on the morning of deadline day.Progress had been made in talks during the afternoon, although the Gunners were surprised when Aubameyang turned up in the Spanish city of his own accord.
