Chelsea. The Gunners had travelled to Stamford Bridge for a Premier League clash on Wednesday night. They were looking to turn around a run of form that has seen three successive losses, a serious blow to their ambitions of finishing in the top four.Mikel Arteta's men started brilliantly, with Eddie Nketiah putting them one goal in front just 12 minutes in.
The striker, making a rare start, capitalised on Andreas Christensen's mistake to slot past Chelsea keeper Edouard Mendy. That lead lasted for just five minutes though, with the Blues drawing level thanks to some calamitous Arsenal defending.
A loose pass from Nketiah was intercepted by Ruben Loftus-Cheek.The midfielder's first-time pass found its way to Werner on the left wing, with the German allowed several touches to control the ball and cut inside.
Ben White and Xhaka both stood off the German, who fired a shot towards goal from outside the box.Xhaka turned his back as Werner released his shot though, with the ball bouncing off his legs.
