Anthony Elanga scored and provided an assist for Manchester United U23s against Liverpool, but it was a maiden goal for Bjorn Hardley that delighted him most.
Winning for the fourth successive game in all competitions, the United youngsters recorded a deserved 3-0 verdict against their bitter rivals at Leigh Sports Village.
Elanga was instrumental in that result as he sent in the cross for Hardley to open the scoring - netting one himself soon after courtesy of a direct, yet fortuitous, set-piece.
Shola Shoretire also got in on the act as Dominic Corness later saw red for Liverpool. That dismissal for a robust challenge came after United had already taken full command, though, for which Elanga says his teammates deserve huge credit.
