In returning to Anfield for match practice on Monday afternoon, Liverpool sent out TWO powerful messages. One was an emotional and aware support for the Black Lives Matter movement, in protesting police abuse and all forms of racism with their ‘take a knee’ gesture captured brilliantly in a picture posed around the centre circle at the famous old stadium.
The other was more subtle, and less electric, but positive and powerful none the less. The entire squad of 29 fit players came back to Anfield for the first time since the lockdown began, to show they are ready for the return of football.
