An ambulance was completely gutted in a 'very unusual' fire which ripped through the vehicle while paramedics were treating a patient.
West Midlands Ambulance Service crew members were called to a home in Trent Vale, Staffordshire at 12.37am this morning. While they were helping the patient neighbours noticed the their ambulance was on fire and alerted the health care workers, Stoke Sentinel reported.
Fire fighters were quickly on the scene but they could not extinguish the fire before it had caused substantial damage.
