Toy Story and Monsters, Inc., has rescheduled his tour after learning that he broke his neck.In an update shared on his website, it was explained that the European tour dates for his live in concert event ‘An Evening with Randy Newman’ had been postponed as he recovers from surgery.The composer said in a statement that he recently ‘noticed I was shrinking’, saying: ‘People over whom I had towered over me,’ as he questioned: ‘Could this be payback for having written Short People?’The 78-year-old then revealed that it turned out ‘my neck was broken’, resulting in him requiring a surgical procedure and now taking ‘extended recovery’.‘They operated on me successfully, I think.
For even now, I look less like an anteater and more like a folk rock artist from the early sixties,’ he said.However, he added that the doctor has advised him not to go on tour yet, as he is ‘not quite ready’.‘I was really looking forward to coming to Europe to perform,’ he wrote.‘I miss performing a great deal and I look forward to a time when I can come.
