Emergency services called to busy Stockport road after person suffers 'medical emergency' on bus

Emergency services responded to reports of a person suffering a medical emergency on a bus in Stockport this afternoon. North West Ambulance Service received a 999 call just after 12pm today (March 8) of reports of an incident on a bus on Wellington Road/A6, near to Stockport Bus Station.

One eye-witness at the scene said they saw a large emergency services presence near a double-decker bus which had been parked up at the side of the road. "All we saw was the air ambulance landing in the fields behind the A6 at around 12.15pm," Carole, who asked just to be referred to by her first name, told the M.E.N. "There are about four police vans, parked up at the temporary bus station.

There are also around three ambulances and a tactical response vehicle too. "It’s right opposite where Debenhams used to be on the A6, near the junction with Heaton Lane.” Emergency services were in attendance until around 4pm.
