Instagram-famous trainspotter Francis Bourgeois, who charmed the fashion world and even modelled for Gucci. The so called “normcore” aesthetic – which borrows from the look of middle-aged dads and has turned New Balance trainers into a fashion must-have – is not going anywhere.
Since most of us might struggle to pull off the anorak and trainers “normcore” look thankfully there are also a handful of new Scandi brands which specialise in stylish raincoats, offering elevated cuts and sophisticated colours for a reasonable price.
The pink number below, £95, by Rains, wouldn’t look out of place at London Fashion Week. Find the right one and anoraks can be rather chic.
And walking into a room bedraggled is not. Of course there’s still a risk that you look like you’re wearing a pac-a-mac. My advice, avoid anything that crumples easily, ditto excessive pockets.
