Young people in Dumbarton and the Vale are experiencing “unacceptable” waits for specialist mental health treatment, according to new figures.Last year 746 children and young people in the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde area waited beyond the 18-week target to be seen by the child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS).Some 26 of them had been waiting for more than a year.According to statistics, at the end of December 3749 children and young people were still waiting for their appointment, with 1410 of them waiting longer than the target time.And 53 of them had been on the waiting list for over a year.Dumbarton MSP Jackie Baillie hit out at the figures and said children were being “neglected” due to mismanagement.She said: “These
