Work underway on multi-million pound Renton housing development

Work is underway on a multi-million pound project to build 25 new homes in Renton.Cordale Housing Association have started work on a development worth £5.4m of 25 new homes at Dalquhurn Lane in the village, with the Scottish Government providing £2.6m to the project.The contractor, AS Homes, started the work last week where they will build 15 two-bed houses, eight three-bed houses and 2 four-bed houses with the project expected to be finished by August 2025.Cordale, who became a subsidiary to the Caledonia Housing Association (CHA) in 2013 is looking to supply the area with high quality, sustainable and energy efficient homes.The Cordale Committee, CHA’s Chief executive and members of the local Renton team visited the site to mark the start of the works.They were also visited by Jackie Baillie, MSP for Dumbarton and Convener of Housing and Communities and Councillor Gurpreet Singh Johal, from West Dunbartonshire Council.Martin Walker, Chair, Cordale Housing Association, said: “It has been a long-term vision of the Cordale Committee to develop homes and help transform the Dalquhurn area.“We currently provide over 500 high quality social homes in Renton, and I am thrilled to see us creating a fantastic new development for the community.
