Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo faces the threat of a touchline ban after he was charged by the FA for his blistering criticism of referee Lee Mason.
The Molineux boss hit out after Wolves ' 2-1 defeat at Burnley on December 21 , insisting Mason “is not good enough” to officiate in the Premier League.
The Portuguese coach subsequently apologised for the timing but not the substance of his comments. The FA allege they "constitute improper conduct" as they were "personally offensive" to Mason.
Nuno was contacted by the FA last week to explain his outburst and has now been charged, having until Tuesday to respond. Any sanction will be imposed by a regulatory commission, who have the power to fine or ban Nuno and potentially do both.
