Recently, the meat-free McPlant is the latest addition to become a permanent fixture on the well-thumbed menu. Other trials haven't been so successful, however.
Cast your mind back to the likes of the McRib, Arch Deluxe and McSalad Shakers for a reminder of the more short-lived menu additions.
Such a fate isn't true for the Chicken Big Mac, however, which - unlike the bird it comes from - has absolutely flown. McDonald's say they've been forced to take the bird-in-bun combination off its menu after being surprised by the enormous popularity of the sandwich.Given the reaction McDonald's fans had to the news of the Chicken Big Mac, it seems the fast-food chain may be struggling to keep up with demand.It now needs some time to restock and recover, in order to ensure a smooth flow of tasty burgers to hungry mouths.A spokesperson for McDonald's said: "We have been delighted by our customers’ reaction to the limited-edition Chicken Big Mac.
