Holidaymakers returning from Spain will now have to quarantine for 14 days, or risk a £1,000 fine. The government has removed Spain from its "air bridge" list amid fears the country is on the brink of a deadly second wave of coronavirus.
The mandatory two week self-isolation is effective immediately, meaning Brits currently on holiday in Spain will be forced into a quarantine they neither expected nor planned for.
This has caused anger and chaos for many - including key workers who are expected back at work. Many will now have to cancel their Spain holidays this summer, as they cannot logistically quarantine for two weeks.
