A wild boar brought train services to a halt after it wandered on to the rail line in Wishaw.The beast, which was at first thought to be a pig, disrupted rail travel on the line between Glasgow Central and Lanark.Officers from British Transport Police and Network Rail staff were deployed to try and catch the animal.Trains through Wishaw were halted for several hours on Thursday evening after the hog was noticed next to the line around 7.30pmScotRail had alerted rail users to the delays to travel via their Twitter account, stating: ScotRail tweeted: “There’s a pig (yes, you read that right) on the line at Wishaw.“Police and @NetworkRailSCOT are trying to capture it right now, so our Glasgow Central - Lanark services won’t be calling at.
