Wigan has been forced to close for a week, after a 'significant number' of staff tested positive for Covid-19. Dean Trust Wigan, in Orrell, sent out an email to parents yesterday (Sunday September 27) informing them that the school would be shut all this week.

Andrew Shakos, the school's operations director, wrote: "It is with regret that we are writing to inform you that we must temporarily close the school to staff and pupils.
