Championship clubs Wigan and Sheffield Wednesday look as though they will avoid relegation this season but could instead face a points deduction ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.
The Latics are set to be deducted 12 points after going into administration, while the Owls could face a maximum of a huge 21 point loss after being accused of an aggravated breach of the EFL's profit and sustainability rules.
With Wigan sitting in 13th place in the Championship and ten points clear of the relegation zone and Wednesday 16th and eight points clear with one game to play, were the sanctions to be imposed this season it would definitely see Wednesday relegated and most probably Wigan too.
