It’s the go-to messaging app for billions of people around the world, and now WhatsApp has introduced an exciting new feature.

WhatsApp now lets you Group Call up to eight people at once, making it easier to stay in touch with friends during the coronavirus lockdown.

The new feature was spotted by WABetaInfo, in the beta version of the app. WABetaInfo explained: “Today WhatsApp is finally ready to roll out the possibility to add 8 participants in a group voice or video call, for everyone having the latest iOS and Android beta update installed.” While WhatsApp has had a video call feature for years, until now users were limited to four participants per video call.
