David de Gea could well be the last remaining trace of Manchester United’s 2012/13 Premier League champions come the start of next season.
De Gea, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling and Ashley Young were all part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s 13th and final Premier League crown.
Newcastle United are said to be interested in Jones - who has featured just twice in the Premier League under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season - while Smalling is on loan at Roma and Young moved to Inter Milan in January.
Michael Carrick anchored United’s midfield that year and he’s now sitting in the dugout alongside Solskjaer, just as he did with previous manager Jose Mourinho.
