Watford are said to be on the verge of sacking manager Nigel Pearson with just two matches of the Premier League season left.

The Hornets currently sit 17th in the table, and began Sunday three points outside of the relegation zone ahead of Bournemouth's clash with Southampton.

The Mail Online claim that club officials were left angry with the manner of Friday's 3-1 defeat at fellow strugglers West Ham, where the Hornets were three goals down at half-time at the London Stadium.

Pearson was only appointed as Watford boss in December, with the club initially experiencing an upturn in form as they lost just one of the new manger's first eight matches in charge.
