The Met Office are monitoring a weather front sweeping towards the UK with fears it could reach a storm level worthy of naming.
Forecasters are poised to name the from Storm Aiden in the event of amber alerts being issued about the incoming gales and rain.This would make the storm the first named one of the autumn season – with experts predicting winds of 60mph will increase to 70mph when the front rushes in from the Atlantic on Wednesday.Government forecasters predict the worst of the weather will be in the North of the UK, but it is believed no part of the UK will escape impact from the storm.While the 900 mile-wide "Atlantic torment" is expected to whip up foul weather from Wednesday, it is expected the worst of the weather will strike.
