Heavy rain will cover most of the UK next week with biting cold and strong gales set to make a miserable end to the month. The Met Office says downpours will push north across many western parts of the country on Monday, with more wet weather forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday.
It comes after the country had its wettest day ever earlier this month, with Storm Alex bringing enough rain to fill Loch Ness on October 3.
Before the next deluge though, the UK is set for a largely dry weekend, albeit a chilly one. Temperatures will struggle to get into double digits today and tomorrow, with the thermometer dropping as low as 5C in some parts of the country.
