Brits are set to bask in temperatures of up to 25C as a "Spanish plume" is forecast to sweep across the country. An 800-mile-wide plume of hot air is expected to push the mercury up to the mid-20s for many parts of the south on Friday.
The Met Office predicts temperatures will start to creep up throughout this week, with highs today of 19C. Most parts of the country will be sunny, although it is set to be cloudy in southwest England.
In the north, temperatures will be noticeably cooler, with wintery showers expected in the far northeast. By Monday, the mini-heatwave looks let to be over, with Arctic air pushing temperatures down as low as single digits in some places.
