Brits have flocked to beaches today as temperatures soared and the UK sizzled in temperatures hotter than Mexico. People were pictured enjoying the rays on beaches in Lyme Regis in Dorset, Bournemouth, Margate and Cornwall.
Others made the most of the pubs being back open as they packed out beer gardens. The mercury is set to hit 25C today making it hotter than Mexico City's 24C.
The warmer weather has been welcomed by Brits after a dreary start to July with lower than average sunshine. One of the country's most popular beach destinations, Bournemouth, was braced for 100,000 visitors and more than 50,000 holidaymakers were expected at Great Yarmouth's golden sand beaches.
