As temperatures soar with heatwaves hitting parts of the UK, excited Brits are heading outdoors to bask in the summer sun. The Met Office reported yesterday as the third hottest day since records began, reaching 37.8C at Heathrow Airport and 37.3 °C at Kew Gardens.
While it may be good news for those who haven't been able to get away on holiday, it's important not the underestimate the harmful effects of the sun at home.
The blistering heat can do real damage to our skin if we head out without the proper protection, with NHS statistics revealing there are around 147,000 new cases of non-melanoma skin cancer diagnosed each year.
