Torrential rain is set to hit Britain with a "disappointing" weekend washout ahead. As millions of Brit head off for 'staycations' now the schools have broken up, rain and cool weather will continue to put a dampener on things this weekend.
The week will end with three days of warm, sunny weather for much of the country, with 25C forecast in London each day. The mid-twenties temperatures are swiftly set to tumble though, the Met Office warns.
Meteorologist Sarah Kent warned those potentially heading away for a UK-based trip with foreign travel complicated by coronavirus that they should prepare for a “disappointing” weekend.
