Baking Britain is not staying cool for long - with an "African heat flare" hotting the country up with four straight days of more than 30C next week.
Sweltering Brits flocked to beaches and beauty spots on Friday as temperatures surged to 37.8C in London - the third hottest day on record.
Temperatures abruptly plunged overnight with much cooler, fresher weather for much of the UK on Saturday. Sunday will be similarly overcast at times, with sunshine in the south but showers in northern England.
But temperatures will gradually warm up throughout the week. And by Thursday temperatures in London and the South East will be back up to 29C, the BBC forecasts.
