Temperatures are set to plummet after a record-breaking heatwave with Brits to expect snow and sleet in stark contrast to last week.
After hitting highs of up to 29C, parts of the UK will be hit with snow and thundery rain. Forecaster Aidan McGivern said "showers could strike anywhere" today as temperatures drop by a couple of degrees across the country.
But the biggest change in weather will be for Scotland with snow predictions set for tomorrow. Giving the weather forecast on BBC Breakfast on Wednesday morning, Carol Kirkwood said temperatures are set to plummet by almost 15C this weekend after the mercury hit 29.6C on Tuesday.
