The UK is basking in a heatwave that will send temperatures soaring to almost 40C, but it comes as many of us wear a face mask to protect against coronavirus.

Britain is expected to see its hottest weather of the year from Friday as public health officials warn that the heatwave could prove to be deadly.

People have been urged to follow the Covid-19 lockdown rules and social distancing guidelines amid fears that packed beaches and parks or large gatherings could lead to an uptick in cases.

Wearing a face covering in extreme heat can be uncomfortable, and one expert says masks are not designed for hot weather, but there are a number of things you can do to cope.
