Emmerdale had to change one of its biggest storylines of the year, due to the coronavirus pandemic. Monday's dramatic episode saw corrupt officer DI Malone take his revenge on Dawn Taylor, and her father Will, after her "betrayal".
His dodgy dealings threatened to come to light after her statement to the police, so he decided to kill her. But his sickening plan led to him trying to force her to kill herself, persuading the recovering drug addict to take a lethal dose of heroin knowing she was now clean.
He waved a gun around and threatened her young son Lucas, making her think she had no option but to comply. Luckily for her, stepmother Harriet Finch, Malone's fling, came to her rescue.
