The UK could be on full coronavirus lockdown until 'late May or early June', a leading scientist has warned. Imperial College London’s Professor Neil Ferguson, whose research has been key to the Government's approach, said he believed the strict measures would have to remain in place for a 'significant period of time'.
Prof Ferguson told the Sunday Times: "We’re going to have to keep these measures (the full lockdown) in place, in my view, for a significant period of time – probably until the end of May, maybe even early June." But Cabinet minister Michael Gove declined to give a timeframe for the measures being lifted.
