Imperial College London’s Professor Neil Ferguson, whose research has been key to the Government's approach, said he believed the strict measures would have to remain in place for a 'significant period of time'.
Prof Ferguson told the Sunday Times: "We’re going to have to keep these measures (the full lockdown) in place, in my view, for a significant period of time – probably until the end of May, maybe even early June." But Cabinet minister Michael Gove declined to give a timeframe for the measures being lifted.
